Spring 2022 Registration FAQ

Q: I'm not sure how to register. Can you help me?
Once your registration window has opened, you may log in to myGateway using your student ID and password to register for classes. Once in myGateway, click on "Add or Drop Classes or purchase parking, AS, or ID" under Registration Tools. Select the semester you are registering for (spring 2022), answer any questions that may appear, and then input the course CRNs or search for the classes you would like to register for.
Q: I'm not sure what classes are available in the spring. Where should I look?
Class Schedule Icon
The spring 2022 class schedule is available in searchable form online here. The online searchable schedule provides the most up-to-date listing of classes.
Q: What is a CRN and how do I find it for the classes I want to take?
CRN Icon
A CRN is a five-digit course reference number used to register for classes. Each class has its own CRN, which you can find in the second column labeled "CRN" in the searchable class schedule. You can also search for a class CRN and automatically add it to your "Add Classes Worksheet" when registering for classes online in myGateway.
Q: I was given a registration "appointment." What does this mean?
myGateway Register Icon
Your registration "appointment" isn't really an appointment at all. Instead this is the start of your registration window — the earliest date and time you may select your classes. It is not a meeting; rather, you simply log in to myGateway when you're ready and pick your classes for the semester. This is completed 100% online at your convenience.
For example, if your email says you can register on November 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., this means you may start registering on this date and time up until the day before the start of spring classes. There's no need to "reschedule" if you can't do it right then, simply log in when you're ready.
Q: I don't know what classes to take. Is there someone who can help me?
Online Counseling Icon
Counselors are available to answer your registration-related questions on campus in Express Counseling on the 2nd floor of the Student Center, or remotely via Express Counseling in Cranium Cafe.
Q: I'm trying to register, but it says I need to take an assessment. What do I do?
Assessment Icon
Cypress College uses a variety of measures to determine students' math, English, and ESL placement. You may take an online guided self placement (log in with your student ID and myGateway password), show your high school transcripts to a counselor in Express Counseling, or provide other acceptable test or assessment scores.
