Five universities competed in the Upper Midwest Collegiate Crops Contest at the University of
Wisconsin-Platteville on October 28. The contest is sponsored by ASA/CSSA and is non elimination
contest, which precedes the mid-November national contests in Kansas City and
Chicago. The participants were from the University of Minnesota-Crookston, South Dakota State
University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois and the host University of
Wisconsin-Platteville. The top three teams were UM-Crookston, South Dakota State and UW-Platteville.

Special thanks to Dr. Higgs for his time, leadership, knowledge, and organizational skill, which made this event so successful!  Thanks also extended to students Brett Pluemer and Kaley Mumma for being room proctors and for giving up their Saturday, Dr. Muthu for assisting with the plant identification grading, and Dr. Donita for assisting with set up and clean up.
