A Letter From Dean Amy Waer, MD, FACS

Howdy!

First, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable contributions to medicine. Your accomplishments have brought honor to our institution over the years and positively impacted countless lives. Whether you have excelled in clinical practice, advanced medical research, public health, or healthcare leadership, your achievements are a testament to the quality education and training you received at Texas A&M University School of Medicine.

Your wealth of knowledge, expertise, and experience is a valuable resource that can contribute to the growth and development of our current students. Whether you are serving as an Affiliated Faculty member, supporting the creation of student scholarships through the Rapport Society, or volunteering your time as a recent graduate to the Aggie Docs CARE program, your insights can inspire and guide the next generation of physicians and can shape their careers. Additionally, your professional networks can open doors and create opportunities for our students as they embark on their own medical journeys.

To facilitate better engagement between the School of Medicine and our Former Students, I have created a dedicated office to foster stronger connections between the two. This office will actively organize networking events, educational programs, and reunions tailored to your interests and needs. We understand that life's demands can lead to the gradual fading of connections and the challenges of maintaining active involvement. However, we believe that re-engaging with our Aggie Docs can bring immense personal and professional benefits. I encourage you to update your contact information to ensure you receive the latest updates and invitations to events.

Furthermore, our alumni webpage serves as a central hub for information, news, and opportunities for involvement. We invite you to visit the webpage regularly, reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and explore ways to participate in the growth of our alumni community. I am eager to hear your suggestions and ideas on how we can better serve our alumni, and you are welcome to share your thoughts via email to MED-Dean@tamu.edu.

Finally, I want to assure you that the School of Medicine remains committed to providing exceptional medical education, advancing groundbreaking research, and delivering compassionate patient care. We take immense pride in our Aggies Docs' achievements, and your success strengthens our reputation as a leading institution in medicine.
