University Leadership Honors Course

A course for the top 5% of sophomores & juniors (3.8 GPA or higher) who fulfill the following criteria:

  • Enthusiasm for and ability to benefit from and contribute to the course
  • Distinction by virtue of your creativity, talent, extraordinary achievement or service
Clock

  • 2 credit non-Stern elective
  • Spring 2022 semester course; cannot be studying away Spring 2022
  • Wednesdays, 9:30am-12:00pm 
  • Team-taught, interactive

           The course will allow you to meet with top-level leaders and academics, prepare you   to be highly competitive for national scholarships and fellowships, and provide you with leadership opportunities and a network of other sophomore & junior leaders at NYU.
Applications are due by 11:59pm Wednesday, October 13, 2021 and must include: 

  1. Resume

  2. Unofficial Transcript

  3. In 400 words or less, respond to the following essay prompt:
    "Using evidence from your personal experience and activities, describe two of your strongest leadership qualities and two leadership qualities you seek to improve or develop. Tell why you think these qualities are important for leaders to embody. Be specific in providing your explanation."
    The essay must be typed and include your name on each page of the document.

  4. A description and/or copy of a project or work product of special distinction or creativity that demonstrates your accomplishment, talent, originality, leadership or positive impact.

    Please note: This is a three-part application process. Selected Stern finalists will be required to submit a faculty recommendation letter to Stern Advising and complete some additional paperwork. Finalists will receive an invitation on November 1st to attend mandatory Zoom interviews with the instructors of the course the week of November 8th. Final decisions will be announced on or before November 16th.
