As many of you know, we are days away from the 41st Ontario Student Leadership Conference (OSLC). Now to be clear, I did not start this conference unlike the Global Student Leadership Summit (GSLS) or SPARK at Canada’s Wonderland, which I founded. I was lucky enough, with hard work and a lot of awesome help from our YLCC team, to take over OSLC in 1999 from Don Wilson who first ran it in 1979.

Our team took it over and grew it from 700 to 2300 students! We have been so fortunate to have such wonderful support from incredible teachers who come each and every year over the last 20 years. 

This blog is really a thank you to EVERY single teacher that has ever come to OSLC, or any of our conferences and events. You are deserving of a gold star. We couldn’t do it without you and thousands and thousands of kids wouldn’t have benefited from the hundreds of speakers and activities that they get to experience at OSLC and our other events. 

Please make sure, if you are coming to the conference this year you come say hi to me and let me know you read this, I have a gift for the first ten that do! 

Keep taking the time to advocate for student leadership, even in these trying times. Please know you are appreciated and I am forever grateful.
