The Ripple Effect
This is a common idea. The thought being that one small action can cause everything to change for years to come. The Micro causing the Macro.
Dr. Greg Wells, EPIC Faculty member and best selling author of “The Ripple Effect” talks about this in relation to health and wellness. In fact we dove deep into it in this podcast last year.
What I am talking about is the very real effect of what we decide to do EVERY single day. Last year about this time I delivered my first TEDx talking about very real examples of both famous people and everyday leaders that change the world and the work around them. The talk was so well received that I transformed it into a corporate culture talk that has become in demand.
Here’s what I know. Nothing BIG started BIG. Terrry Fox’s first step was seen by three people. Now he’s still a household name and his movement has raised more than a billion dollars. That’s STUpendous. But, we choose how we interact with dozens os humans a day. Both on and offline. As I mention in my TEDx, a single interaction with a Starbucks employee can change a dozen peoples days, and they might decide to pay it forward and change the days of another dozen people.
I encourage you during these divided times to; Treat each other as you want to be treated. Be Kind. Be Courteous. Be a good leader. We have that ability to be a difference maker EVERY single day!
