Sh*t of get off the pot

Recently I was chatting with a friend who is stuck with a hard life decision. She is facing very difficult choices: One is a big change but will likely make her life less stressful. The other will force her to continue in a place that is “comfortable” but unhealthy.

There’s an old saying (my apologies for the language) that when you are making a tough decision you have to “sh*t or get off the pot.” Life is full of what if situations; The woulda- coulda-shoulda kind of stuff. You eventually have to make a choice, or as Nike says, just do it (JDI).

I am about to experience the BIG coming together of what has been a HUGE leap of faith; the Global Student Leadership Summit. It’s been a roller coaster of emotion and tough choices that got us to this point. They key is that I made the choice to JDI!

Today I was inspired by Seth Godin. He writes a short blog every single day. In his latest post, he ask the tough question:
Which is worse...
  • Failure or fear of failure?
  • Fear or fear of fear?
  • Trying and failing or not trying at all?
  • Speaking up and not being heard, or suffering in silence?
  • Caring and losing, or not caring at all?
  • Doing or wondering?

If you want to live your ideal life with few regrets, you need to decide which is worse for you? The line that speaks loudest to me is “Trying and failing or not trying at all?”

Every and any day I think it would be worse to have never tried at all.

In Leadership and gratitude,
