WEEK 1 —July 9-13
Art for Kids: Color Explosion
Instructor: April Vincent
Don’t be afraid to roll up your sleeves and make a mess in this colorful class. We will whip up some squishy slime, make our own sparkle puffy paint, paint with bubbles, make stained “glass” ornaments, and much more.

Movement for Kids
Instructor:  Liz White
Be creative and learn some fun ways to move around. We will learn how to play theater games, move in slow-motion, and teach each other our favorite dance moves. This class will be a great way to interact with your new friends.

Music for Kids
Instructor:  Birch Graves
Let’s learn about music as we experience it, through songs, games, playing instruments, and creating our own music. We will use the book “The Listening Walk” as our guide. Along the way, we will playfully learn about the basics of music: pitch, rhythm, beat, and form. We will use our observations to create our own music that we will share in the Friday Showcase. The best way to learn music is the fun way—by playing it!

WEEK 2 —July 16-20
Art for Kids: Art All Around
Instructor: April Vincent
Using everyday objects and materials from nature, students will find that even the simplest things can be made into works of art. We will make mosaics with beans and seeds, harness solar power to make prints, craft rock friends, and discover the infinite possibilities of the cardboard tube.

Movement for Kids
Instructor:  Carli Mareneck
How does the world around you move? How do grasshoppers, galloping horses, lightning and raindrops, wind and waves move? We will explore, enjoy, and express while learning about space, time, and energy. We will create movements using fun props and music.

Music for Kids
Instructor:  Birch Graves
We will use the book “Too Much Noise” as our guide as we learn the story and replace the sounds in the book with classroom instruments. We will create our own musical story that we can share in the Friday Showcase. The best way to learn music is the fun way—by playing it!
