As part of our Culture of Care, Bass Pro Shops continues to enhance the benefits, programs and resources available to support your health, wellbeing and financial preparedness. We encourage every Outfitter to explore what's new for 2027 and take an active role in choosing the coverage and resources that best meet the needs of you and your family in the upcoming year.
We are proud to note that from 2025 - 2026, the company’s contribution to the medical plan increased more than 16%, while Outfitter premiums increased by an average of 6.9%. In 2027, the Health Insurance Marketplace is expected to rise by 15%. Once again, Bass Pro Shops is absorbing the vast majority of the costs to help keep Outfitter medical premium increases as low as possible.
Dental and vision premiums will remain unchanged for 2027.
Open Enrollment will take place today/Tuesday, Oct. 27 through Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026, with coverage effective Jan. 1, 2027. During this time, all Outfitters should review their benefits and make any necessary updates. Be sure to:
  • Review your medical plan options, especially if you are currently enrolled in the Core Medical Plan.
  • Re-enroll in your Health Care FSA and/or Dependent Care FSA if you wish to contribute in 2027.
  • Review automatic Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) enrollment information if you are an hourly Outfitter.
As part of our ongoing commitment to making healthcare more accessible, affordable and convenient, we are pleased to introduce several benefit enhancements for 2027. 
New Dental Provider: MetLife brings a broader provider network, 90% approval on out-of-network reasonable and customary services, and increased benefits for those who complete preventive dental visits, while keeping dental premiums unchanged. 
Diabetic Support Program: Outfitters and their covered family members will now have a $0 copay for FreeStyle Libre Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) through our pharmacy benefit, making it easier and more affordable to manage their condition.
Free Virtual Primary Care through Anthem: Skip the trip to urgent care for many routine health needs and connect with a primary care provider from anywhere at no cost, helping you save both time and money while getting the care you need. 
Savings on Surgical Services: Through Transcarent, Outfitters can access high-quality surgeons, leading healthcare facilities, expert second opinions and personalized support for eligible surgical procedures, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, spine and general surgery. This benefit can help reduce out-of-pocket costs, with PPO participants paying $0 for covered services and Value Plan participants paying only the applicable deductible before plan benefits begin.
Simplified Medical Plan Options: To align with recent IRS requirements, we are updating our medical plan offerings for 2027. The Core Medical Plan will be replaced by the Value Plan, which offers lower weekly premiums while continuing to provide comprehensive medical coverage. Outfitters will continue to have a choice between a PPO (Choice Plan) and a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP Value Plan). Current Core Medical Plan participants should review their options during Open Enrollment. If no action is taken, current Core Medical Plan participants will automatically be enrolled in the Value Plan for 2027.
Maximize Your Healthcare Savings: Outfitters enrolled in the Value HDHP can take advantage of the tax-saving benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA) while preparing for future healthcare expenses. For 2027, the IRS has increased HSA contribution limits, allowing Outfitters to save even more on a tax-advantaged basis. 
Bass Pro Shops will continue to match Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $500 for individual coverage and $1,000 for family coverage, helping you make the most of your healthcare dollars. 
Expanded Wellbeing Resources: We're excited to introduce ComPsych, providing Outfitters and their families with 24/7 access to confidential counseling, financial and legal guidance, caregiving resources and wellbeing coaching. Members can receive up to six free counseling visits for each qualifying concern, helping you and your family get the support you need at no additional cost. 
Wellbeing Credit Extended: We are pleased to continue the Wellbeing Credit program in 2027, rewarding eligible Outfitters who take an active role in their health by completing annual physical and wellbeing requirements. Eligible Outfitters who complete the requirements will receive a Wellbeing Credit in December equal to two weeks of medical plan premiums, recognizing their commitment to personal health and wellbeing. Preventive care remains one of the most effective ways to identify health concerns early and support healthier outcomes for you and your family.
While healthcare coverage is an important part of your benefits options, Bass Pro Shops continues to invest in a wide range of programs designed to support your health, financial wellbeing and quality of life. Over the past several years, we have introduced and enhanced benefits that continue to provide additional value for you and your family, including:  
Last year, we enhanced retirement benefits, including the increase in the company 401(k) match by 50% from 4% to 6% to help Outfitters build greater financial security for the future. 
Enhanced dental coverage, including adult fluoride treatments and sealants to help support long-term oral health. 
Expanded breast cancer screening benefits, with MRI, ultrasound and pathology/biopsy services covered before the deductible to improve access to preventive care. 
Bass Pro Shops Family Health Center and Pharmacy, providing convenient in-person and virtual care, pharmacy services and healthcare savings for Outfitters and their families. More prescriptions were filled at the Family Health Center than all other pharmacies in a 30-mile radius over the last 12 months!
24/7 nurse support, virtual care and wellness resources through Anthem, making it easier to access care whenever and wherever you need it. 
Prescription savings programs, helping thousands of Outfitter families reduce prescription costs through expanded pharmacy options and discounted mail-order services. Nationally Outfitters save up to 22% on name brand and up to 89% on generic prescriptions!
The Bass Pro Cares Fund, which has provided more than $5 million in assistance to Outfitters and their families facing unexpected hardships since it was established in 2016.
Exclusive Outfitter discounts and experiences, including 50% off Bass Pro Shops proprietary brands and Tactacam products, 15% off most vendor brands, discounts to world-class conservation attractions, and special experiences throughout the year available only to Outfitters. 
Reviewing your benefits each year helps ensure you have the coverage that’s right for you and your family. We encourage all Outfitters to take time during Open Enrollment to learn about plan enhancements, evaluate their healthcare needs and take advantage of the resources and savings opportunities available to them.
