How many stairs is the climb?
The full route goes up and down 1,500 stairs.
The half route goes up and down 750 stairs.
You will climb up one aisle, run across the top section and then run down one aisle, weaving up, over, down, over 17 times on the full route and 8 times on the half route. View the route.
How long does the climb take?
Last year, our fastest climber finished in just under 8 minutes. Most climbers take about 15-25 minutes to complete the climb. The course will close 35 minutes after the last climber is sent out.
Is the climb timed?
Yes, every climber will have a bib with a timing chip to track how long it took to complete the climb from start to finish. You can check out last year’s results to try to beat your record.
How will I know when to start climbing?
Climbers will be sent out in waves with the fastest climbers going first. We ask climbers to self-identify what pace group they will climb in (Sprinters, Joggers, Walkers, and Tourists) by putting a colored sticker on their bib. Your teammates can start at different times and do different routes (half or full).
Does my team have to stick together and do the same route? Do we have an assigned start time?
Teams do not need to climb together and can do different routes (half or full). We ask climbers to self-identify what pace group they will climb in (Sprinters, Joggers, Walkers, and Tourists) by putting a colored sticker on their bib. We will send the fastest group out first. Your teammates can start at different times and meet up at the finish line when everyone in your group is done.
What if I can’t complete the climb?
You can step out at any time during the climb. The ballpark set up gives you the freedom to stop and exit to the concourse if you cannot complete the climb. We will have first aid on site if needed.
