In commemoration, Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden opened "Shall Not Be Denied: Women Fight for the Vote," a new exhibition that features artifacts and documents from the women who changed political history 100 years ago.

Faces of Power: 80% Are White, Even as U.S. Becomes More Diverse**A review by The New York Times of more than 900 officials and executives in prominent positions found that about 20 percent identify as Black, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, multiracial or otherwise a person of color. About 40 percent of Americans identify with one of those groups.
Even where there have been signs of progress, greater diversity has not always translated to more equal treatment.

2019 Report on Diversity in U.S. Law FirmsThe National Association for Law Placement (NALP) has released its 2019 Report on Diverisity in US Law Firms—the annual compendium of legal employer data published by NALP. This report shows how women and people of color continued to make incremental gains in representation at major U.S. law firms in 2019 compared with 2018, according to the latest law firm demographic findings. Additionally, despite steady gains, great structural and cultural hurdles remain that prevent law firms from being able to measure more rapid progress in increasing diversity, particularly among the partnership ranks.

Representation of Women and Minority Equity Partners Among Partners Little Changed in Recent YearsAccording to a study by the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), since 2011, there is a definite skew among women and minority lawyers who are partners toward non-equity status. Partners in general continue to be disproportionately both male and white (almost 71% white and male in 2018), and in multi-tiered firms the skew toward men and non-minorities among equity partners appears to be somewhat greater than among partners as a whole.
