We have the safety of our staff and attendees in mind as we return to live, in-person events in Texas this year. Here, you will find out what we're doing—and what you can do—to protect participants and preserve our in-person CLE environment. We understand that guidelines are changing rapidly and will make every effort to keep this page updated as new information arises.
Attendees and staff must comply with all safety protocols required by host hotels and venues, regardless of what is outlined below.

In-Person Expectations

For the safety and comfort of all participants, we are asking all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, to observe the following precautions:
  • Wear face masks, except when eating or drinking, and adhere to The University of Texas’ Mask Guidance
  • Maintain physical distance when possible based on the current CDC guidelines.
  • Wash hands frequently and minimize touch point contact.
  • Follow other safety protocols put in place for a specific event, and
  • Agree to the Personal Accountability Commitment at the bottom of this page.

Governor Abbott’s executive order is clear that governmental entities cannot compel individuals to receive a COVID vaccine approved for emergency use, and that organizations receiving public funding cannot require individuals to show documentation they have been inoculated. Accordingly, UT institutions are not requiring proof of a COVID vaccination before participating in a university-sponsored event. However, we strongly recommend that all attendees be fully vaccinated prior to attending one of our in-person live events. Vaccines not only help stop the spread; they have also proved incredibly effective in virtually eliminating the most serious COVID health risks for most people.
If you are experiencing symptoms, have COVID-19 or think you may have been exposed, please stay home. As part of your registration, you will have access to the recorded eConference, which will include presentations from ALL tracks and classes (available to all attendees within 4-6 weeks).

What We're Doing Differently

Here's a look at what we're doing differently at our live, in-person conferences:
  • Increased signage will be visible to remind guests to maintain safe distancing.
  • Public areas will be sanitized throughout the day.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available on-site.
  • Printed binders will not be distributed on-site to help minimize multiple touch points at registration and facilitate sanitation in the meeting room at various times. Printed binders that are pre-ordered with your registration or ordered on-site at the conference will be fully complete and shipped to you after the conference.
  • Registration includes additional flexibility and convenience. As part of registration, attendees have access to the recorded and accredited eConference, which will include presentations from ALL tracks and classes (available to all attendees within 4-6 weeks), and can watch any presentations they may miss in-person.
  • Regular cancellation fees will not be assessed due to illness or exposure to COVID-19. (See “Key Dates” for each conference.)

Personal Accountability Commitment

By registering for a live, in-person event, you agree to follow all safety protocols requested by UT Law CLE and by the conference venue at the time of the event. You acknowledge there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public space where people gather. We encourage all registrants to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and all posted instructions while attending UT Law CLE events to ensure the health and safety of our staff, speakers, and attendees.
