Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in my ticket?
Your ticket includes entrance to our Fifth Annual 18th & 21st Repeal Party & Murder Mystery. The event starts at 6:00 pm on December 11th. A three course dinner plus a welcome cocktail is included with your ticket purchase. We’d really, really appreciate it if you didn’t drink and drive. Get an Uber, bring a DD, Call Columbia Cab, Yes Columbia Cab still exists. Get a room at the new Merriweather Lakehouse hotel, it’s right around the corner and you could walk there. There are tons of options to stay safe.
What is the menu?
Our Chefs have put together a fabulous menu that will include a cocktail style welcome selection of appetizers, a seated entree course, and then a dessert buffet of assorted specialties from the chefs. We've mentioned this a couple of times already but in case you weren't paying attention we figured we'd add this paragraph just to point it out.
Is there a bar?
Of course there is a bar. While your ticket doesn’t include any alcohol, other than the welcome cocktail, we will still have 18th & 21st full selection of cocktails, beer, wine and spirits available for purchase. We will also have some fabulous Prohibition Era Cocktail Specials available for the occasion.
When is last call?
Our bar will continue serving until 10:00 pm and the lights will go up at 10:30pm. It is a Monday this year and most of you will probably have to get up for work in the morning anyway.
Will there be live music?
This is one of the few times where we will be hosting an event in 18th & 21st and there will not be live music. We know that you've come to expect it from us but we just hosted our Poe Halloween Dinner and no one missed it. There will be far to much fun going on for you to worry about it. But don't worry. Our very own John "Chordy" Teagle will be playing one of the characters in the mystery. Trust us, this is going to be a ton of fun. Also, can someone tell us what 2,000 lbs of fun looks like?
Is there reserved seating?
Yes in addition to the Murder Mystery, this is a seated dinner. Your ticket will include a reserved table for the event. That would be really silly of us to serve a dinner and not offer you a place to sit. We are in the hospitality industry and that wouldn't be very hospitable of us.
What should I wear?
Here at 18th & 21st we want you to be comfortable. Wear whatever you’d like but remember one thing. This is a Prohibition Repeal Party. Our staff and many of our guests will be dressing the part. So, if you’ve got a Flapper Dress or Spats and a Fedora in the closet collecting dust, this is the night to break them out. Don’t have one? That’s okay too. Want to wear a Flapper Dress with Spats and a Fedora? Hey whatever floats your boat. We just ask that you wear clothes. We will not be admitting people who aren’t wearing clothes to this event. Talks are underway for an event that will be clothing optional but no one from this organization is participating in those talks, and any such event will not be happening here at Cured / 18th & 21st.
What if there is bad weather?
In case we weren’t’ clear, this event is indoors. We will be having this event rain or shine. If you purchase a ticket plan on showing up. We promise we will be open. Okay, in the event of Prohibition making a comeback between now and December 11th, or if there is a Tularemia outbreak, we will probably not have the event. Barring those events, we will be open!
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Unfortunelty due to the nature of this event we require pre-paid reservations. We need to have a count so the Chefs know how much food to prepare for the evening. Full disclosure we MIGHT be able to accomodate you if you show up that night but why take that chance?
Are tickets refundable?
No. Did the Orioles refund your tickets when you couldn’t get up the energy to go see a team that you thought was going to be really bad this year? Well guess what? They played pretty well this year. Yes, they are still rebuilding but it finally looks like it’s coming together. That’s right, if you weren’t paying attention the Orioles just had a winning season, and even made a run at the playoffs. Watch out 2023! Wait, we were talking about whether or not these tickets are refundable. To answer again. No. No they are not. That being said, while we are unable to refund tickets, your tickets are transferable. If something comes up and you are unable to attend, you can always let a friend come in your place.
Do I have to be 21 years old to attend?
Yes, due to the nature of the event, no one under 21 years of age will be admitted to our Repeal Party. No exceptions.
Is there parking?
Of course. That’s one of the many great things about 18th & 21st. Free, garage parking. It’s literally attached to our building. We have spaces that are specifically reserved for the restaurant. Plus, it’s in the evening and it's Sunday. There won't be any office workers here when we kick things off, (It’s funny that you think there are any people in these offices anyway.) and most of the garage will be empty. This means you shouldn’t have any trouble finding space. Plus finding space is awesome. It is the final frontier after all. But if you are driving a Heighliner then you are going to have to park that thing in orbit and teleport down because it would literally crush our building, the garage and, well, basically all of Columbia. Those things are twenty kilometers long. If you do have a Heighliner can you invite us over to take a look at it? That must be really cool.
