Welcome to Barknell x March Madness, the annual contest where Bucknell-loving pups compete for a chance to be crowned top dog and score a sweet prize package! This paw-some event brings together dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds in a thrilling and tail-wagging competition like no other. All Bucknell alumni are invited to paw-ticipate!
  • Submit your pup's name, age (at time of photo) and photo by midnight on Sunday, March 2 to enter.
  • Submissions can be made via email at anngive@bucknell.edu or via Instagram DM @Bucknellalumni. 
  • Photos are STRONGLY encouraged to be Bucknell spirited or reflect Bucknell in some way. Photo does not need to be current.
  • Repeat contestants from previous years are welcomed.
  • Submissions are not guaranteed to make the bracket (dependent on size of participant pool).
  • Vote for you favorite pups in each round beginning Monday, March 10 on our Instagram stories.
  • Winner receives a coveted Barknell prize package!

Yes!
Does my dog have to wear Bucknell gear?
Your dog doesn't have to wear Bucknell gear, but your submission should be Bucknell-themed. Do you have a great photo of your pup on campus? Does he or she have a favorite stuffed Bison? Stage a photo with a Bucknell flag for a backdrop! Not all dogs will make the bracket, and the selection committee heavily favors Bucknell spirit. 
Can I submit a pet other than a dog?
Unfortunately, this contest is limited to canines.
How do I vote?
Voting takes place exclusively through polls on Instagram stories @Bucknellalumni. Follow the account and keep an eye out for the matchups to appear on stories each day of contest voting (March 10-14). You can vote one time in each matchup per day. Contestants with the most votes at the closing of voting each day advance. Voting is open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
How can I help my dog advance in the contest?
Spread the word! Share the posts and encourage fellow Bucknellians to follow the account and vote each day. The people choose the winner!
What's included in the prize package?
The winning pup receives a Bucknell leash, bandana and stuffed bison along with a special gift for their human!
