Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP) magnet schools offer hands-on learning that exposes students to new careers and ideas—but only if they show up.Nationally, chronic absenteeism has nearly doubled since COVID-19, affecting student success.
To tackle this, Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) has introduced creative strategies, from pizza parties to parent engagement. One leader, Dr. ReGina Etter, Director of MNPS Magnet Schools took it a step further—making attendance fun through music.
That’s how the Attendance Matters song was born, with lyrics like “Being at school helps me to prepare. For my future, I MUST BE THERE!” Watch the video below and access resources to promote attendance at your school!
