Presidential Scholarship
The application period is opening in mid-January on the BAYADA Celebrates community recognition platform with expanded opportunities! All caregivers and clinicians employed with BAYADA for at least 90 days as of the submission deadline are eligible to apply.
A total of $2,000 can be awarded to individual applicants each academic year, with up to $1,000 for the Fall Semester and up to $1,000 for the Spring Semester.
  • 2023 Fall Semester | July through December: up to $1,000
    • Submission deadline: May 1, 2023
  • 2024 Spring Semester | January through June: up to $1,000
    • Submission deadline: November 6, 2023
Here’s why some of your colleagues have applied:
  • The reason for me going back to school is to improve myself and in turn be in a better position to provide quality care to our clients at their preferred location.
Grace Attah, HHA (from the Downtown Boston, MA Assistive Care (DBA) office)
  • My classes are in preparation for obtaining an MSN degree in nursing leadership. Any and all of my coursework will enable me to have a positive impact and advance BAYADA’s mission.
Marla Burns, RN (from the Mount Laurel, NJ Pediatrics (MLP) office)
  • After completing graduate school, I wanted to shape my clinical expertise around the geriatric population. I joined the BAYADA team to gain experience with this population and to make a positive impact in people's lives. My ultimate goal is to obtain my Geriatric Clinical Specialist certification to specialize in this specific population.
Mathison McConville, PT (from the Fairfax, VA Senior Living (FFF) home health office)
  • Through the Positive Behavior Support course, I plan to not only expand my knowledge on how to better support my client, but also to gain insight on how behavior analysts should work with other service providers. Taking this course will teach me how to better approach difficult behaviors and learn how behavior analysts monitor and determine which interventions make positive behavior changes.
Kimberlynne Galapon, Registered Behavior Technician (from the Oahu, HI Behavioral Health (OBH) office)

Protect Yourself and Others from the “Tripledemic” of Viruses
As we reflect on 2022, BAYADA’s Infection Prevention team thanks you and extends our appreciation for all you do! We share our gratitude for your commitment and compassion through the evolving events of COVID-19, and your dedication to your clients and to one another. We appreciate you and all you have done through this unprecedented experience of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues, and the challenges of other illnesses also exist. Below are signs and symptoms of the recently dubbed “Tripledemic”—COVID-19, flu, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection (RSV)—to be aware of.
How to protect yourself from the “Tripledemic”
  • Refer to these resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for COVID-19, flu, and RSV prevention and care:
  • Practice everyday prevention methods, including:
    • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
    • Staying home when sick
    • Covering coughs and sneezes
    • Using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
    • Frequently washing your hands
How to control the spread of COVID-19, flu, and RSV
If you are sick with any symptoms listed on this chart (source: ABC News), stay home and contact your office leadership. If you do not have COVID-19 but have symptoms, you need to remain out of work and make sure you do not have another contagious illness that you could spread to your clients or coworkers.
Don’t forget! BAYADA offers free flu vaccine vouchers through CVS. Head to Workday and click on the flu shot icon in the Announcements section to access your voucher today!
Please take good care of yourself as you are so selflessly caring for others, and enjoy a happy and healthy New Year!
