As the pandemic continues, so does our monitoring of the payer guideline changes in response to COVID-19. NSM has been working closely with Medicare and the large, national commercial payers to understand the payer guideline changes. We have created an overview document to help you easily navigate all of these changes in one place. In addition, we have created overview documents for the top regional payers. We want to provide a safe experience for all of your patients, regardless of their age. As the largest pediatric CRT (Complex Rehab Technology) provider in the country, we will be providing pediatric masks to all NSM locations next week. This will ensure all pediatric patients can be provided a mask that fits them properly for any in-person appointment with an NSM employee.
As a reminder, when we have a face-to-face interaction with your patient, we will be wearing a mask and other appropriate PPE. We will also provide them and one caregiver with a mask. Unless, of course, they already have one that they prefer!

Before COVID-19 forced the world to find technology-based solutions to provide service remotely, NSM was already doing it for thousands of clients across the country. In fact, last month over 25% of our clients, along with their Clinical Care Team, chose to complete their new equipment evaluation via a remote methodology and found that it was medically appropriate and the safest option for them.
Now, with COVID-19, remote evaluations may prove to be the safest option to serve you. Your safety and our employees' safety are our top priorities. It may not be appropriate for every encounter, but we consider it as our first option to keep safety at the forefront of everything we do.
We have altered our care models to provide safe, convenient and compliant care. Click the button below to learn all the ways we are serving you safely.

After five years in the same chair, NSM client and spunky YouTube vlogger, Savannah Moore was due for an upgrade. And despite the current climate, RTS, Cyle Cook, was up for the challenge: to deliver and fit Savannah in her new chair with her Shepherd Center therapist, whom Cyle has worked in tandem with for 10+ years, tuned in via Microsoft Teams.
The first in his branch to attempt a telehealth delivery, Cyle arrived more than half an hour early to the actual appointment time to perform due diligence with his tablet setup and make the obvious adjustments on Savannah’s chair. While the tablet was not intuitive, Cyle worked quickly to set up an optimal lighting situation to showcase Savannah in her chair before her therapist arrived on the Microsoft Teams virtual feed. Teams worked flawlessly, but the tablet’s distance to provide the necessary view of Savannah, paired with the personal protective masks muffling their voices, provided speaker volume issues. However, Cyle plans to remedy this in the future with a Bluetooth speaker connected to his tablet.
All in all Savannah, her therapist and Cyle were pleased with the outcome of their first telehealth delivery and Cyle hopes to provide more telehealth deliveries in the future.
