Staff Spotlight

Rebecca Byers

Coordinator of Graduate Admissions

In October, we're spotlighting our newest team member, Becca! Becca joins the graduate school staff as an alumna of Florida State University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. As the coordinator of graduate admissions, Becca helps applicants with completing their applications for admissions, communicates with prospects, and helps new students with matriculation and campus engagement. Becca also serves as the professional staff advisor to the Graduate School Organization! We are glad to have her with us on our team!

Fall 2024 Applications Open

You have likely already seen that Fall 2024 applications for graduate admissions are open now. As a reminder, please contact the graduate school if you need to adjust your program deadline. Additionally, you will need to bookmark the link to Slate as our new workflow no longer automatically links to applications pending your review. You will still continue receiving email notifications when there are applications awaiting your review.
Market Days

Join Us at Market Days

As a reminder, for the Fall 2023 semester, the Graduate School has sponsored a table at Market Wednesdays! We are inviting program representatives to join us to interact with current UNF undergraduates who might be interested in staying at the Nest for a master's degree. This is a great opportunity for programs to recruit new students. GPDs are eligible to table for 2 hours or 4 hours. The sign-up link is accessible via the button below.
The Graduate School will provide the tablecloth, the tent, and promotional items. All you have to do is sign up and show up with any program materials you want to distribute! If you have any questions about tabling at Market Days, please contact Kira Fellows.

Class Visits: Research Grants

The Graduate Research Grant is a great way for students to fund their research, creative and professional development activities. Our team member, George, has a short presentation that he can deliver to your classes and answer questions from students in real time. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact George Boston. Also, feel free to spread the word to other faculty in your department! He will happily visit night classes!

Application Review Tip

Can't find a student's resume, professional license, or official transcript? If those documents are not in Slate, you will most likely find them in Onbase! Onbase is where many official student documents are housed, such as official transcripts we receive by mail. There are several reasons why a document may be in Onbase and not in Slate. Documents that arrive via mail, or documents from a returning student's record are held in Onbase as a means of permanent record retention.
As a program director, you should have access to Onbase, but if you don't please contact us! For a quick guide on how to use Onbase, click here!
If you are looking for a current UNF student's transcript, you can find that in myWings by clicking on "Employee" under my resources, then Banner Self-Service >> UNF  Administrative Applications >> Student Information >> Student Transcript.
