Volunteer Shout Out //
NINA FREEDMAN '77 H'92 & ELIZA ROSSMAN '84 P'15

We'd like to give a shout out to Nina Freedman '77 H'92 and Eliza Rossman '84 P'15, who recently helped shape and launch our new volunteer-driven event series, Kenyon Women Giving Back, which celebrates our philanthropic alumnae, honors their contributions and shares the important stories of how Kenyon women are impacting the world collectively. Each quarterly event focuses on a small group of alumnae who share common philanthropic goals — whether it be where they choose to give back, how they choose to give back or what they choose to give back.

"How lucky I was to be able to lend my voice with Eliza Rossman and a fabulous leadership group, celebrating the past 50 years and the next 50+ years of  Kenyon Women Giving Back. Launching this new initiative gave us the opportunity to reconnect with incredible women from every decade who have led the way, giving back to Kenyon with their time, talent and treasure. I so look forward to connecting decades of Kenyon women still to come!" — Nina Freedman '77 H'92

"Making new Kenyon women friends and working together with Nina to launch Kenyon Women Giving back has really brought me back into the Kenyon fold in a new and meaningful way. The College is on such an exciting path and I’m thrilled to be a part of it — working to help Kenyon women everywhere get engaged and stay engaged!" — Eliza Rossman '84 P'15

With the development and launch of the program behind them, as well as the group's inaugural event on alumnae giving back as nonprofit leaders, Nina and Eliza have passed the baton to Kenyon Women Giving Back's next alumna leader: Una Fogarty '90. Registration is now open for the group's March 22 event featuring alumnae giving back in Knox County. It will be followed up by a May in-person event during Reunion Weekend.

Thank you, Nina and Eliza, for all you do to support Kenyon. And thank you, Una, for becoming Kenyon Women Giving Back's next alumna leader. We couldn't do this work without you and our entire group of dedicated alumni volunteers!

Kenyon Fund — Counting down to 4.30.22
Over the past two years, many of you have made gifts – more than 3,500 of them, in fact – during our Kenyon Together giving challenges. As we emerge from the pandemic, able to begin gathering in person once again, we have decided to tie this year’s giving day challenge to our upcoming 43022 Day celebration. We’ll be announcing a new name and previewing an updated format, with the same opportunities to use our GiveCampus platform to create matching gifts, set up challenges and amplify your voice as an advocate. More information will be coming your way in the next few weeks, but save the date for April 29-30, 2022!

Alumni Council & KFEC Winter Meetings — Feb. 18 Recap
Members of Alumni Council and the Kenyon Fund Executive Committee gathered virtually on Friday, Feb. 18 for their winter meeting. Both groups heard from President Decatur in the morning, including updates on our recent success with admissions applications and gifts to the Kenyon Access Initiative, and the potential change to the College monikers. In the afternoon sessions, Alumni Council continued to discuss the proposed moniker change and voted on alumni award nominations, while the Kenyon Fund Executive Committee reviewed fundraising progress to date and considered tactics to help boost alumni participation in the Kenyon Fund.

Class Agents — Accepting class notes through March 8
Help us continue to collect class notes from your classmates by sharing this Google Form link through email, text and social media. The deadline for new notes is Tuesday, March 8. And keep an eye on your snail mailbox in early May for your class’ spring class letter!

*Extra Credit: Help us celebrate 43022 Day!*
As you read above, we are busy gearing up for our momentous celebration of all things Gambier: 43022 Day. We currently have four regions planning events, but we would like to announce as many as possible in our alumni events email early next week. Regions hosting events will be sent a special package of 43022-exclusive swag! If you are interested, or have any questions, please email Tristan Neviska '13.

LISA SCHOTT '80 TO RETIRE  //  After a nearly 40-year career at the College, Lisa Schott ’80 will retire from Kenyon on June 30. Lisa served as alumni secretary for Kenyon for more than two decades before taking the helm of the Philander Chase Conservancy in 2010. So far, PCC has protected more than 2,800 acres of agricultural land, 1,400 acres of woodland, 700 acres of pasture and 18 miles of rivers and streams. Lisa was also instrumental in establishing the Kokosing Nature Preserve, a conservation burial ground on 23 acres of restored prairies that is the first green cemetery in the nation to be affiliated with a college or university land conservancy, as well as the Kenyon Farm. Alumni may celebrate her many years of service with gifts to the Philander Chase Conservancy Endowment. Make a gift >>
