Volunteer Shout Out //
THOMAS MOORE '72

At Kenyon’s first-ever all-class soiree on Saturday, May 28, President Sean Decatur presented the 2022 Gregg Cup to Thomas Moore ’72 in recognition of his history of service to the College.

Moore has served as a Kenyon volunteer since at least 1984 — as far as alumni office records go back. He has served as a class agent for 30 years and worked on six reunion committees and two campaign committees. He has served as a trustee, on the Kenyon Fund Executive Committee and Alumni Council, twice each, and helped shape the new 50th reunion program, among other contributions to the College. He has served the College as well as any alum, and done so with a smile. In fact, his motto is “work hard and be nice to people.”

Additional 2022 alumni awards were announced throughout the weekend. These awards recognize outstanding commitment to the College by specific alumni classes and individual members of the alumni community. Individual awardees are nominated by their peers or friends of the College, with final selections made by Alumni Council.

The full list of award recipients can be viewed here

Congratulations to this year’s winners! And a big t
hank you to Tom for all he does to support Kenyon. We couldn't do this work without you and our entire group of dedicated alumni volunteers!

Victories // BY THE NUMBERS

1,474 gifts made during Give 43022
Give 43022 was a huge success, with 1,474 members of the community contributing nearly a million dollars to the things at Kenyon they care about. Thank you to all of our class agents and reunion committee members who volunteered as advocates during Give 43022. A special shout out to the 1991 class committee, who had the most classmates participate during the challenge.

700+ loyal givers celebrated at Reunion
The annual giving team had a great time celebrating the 572 Abraham Society members and 138 leadership donors in attendance at Reunion by welcoming over 200 people to the leadership toast and more than 300 people to the Abraham Society lounge. Our concierge texting service fielded 700+ texts during the weekend, keeping our dedicated staff and student workers on their toes!

14 regional events on 4.30.22 and a mega Reunion
A huge thank you to regional volunteers, class agents and reunion volunteers for a very successful spring semester at Kenyon. It was an unforgettable experience hosting a variety of 43022 Day events that included 14 regional activities from Atlanta to San Francisco. The year wrapped up with back-to-back Commencement ceremonies and the Class of 2022 becoming our newest Kenyon alumni. Not to be overlooked, our "mega Reunion" will go down in history as Kenyon’s largest alumni gathering on campus! Next up, the alumni office would like to encourage regional association volunteers to start thinking about their summer/fall events. Make sure to fill out the event request form here at least six weeks prior to your event date, when possible.

16 days left to help with our fiscal year-end finale (and win swag!)
Hey, class agents and reunion committee members! With less than a month left until the end of our fiscal year, the Kenyon Fund still needs 1,000 donors to hit our participation goal for the year. To help us go that extra mile, our Board of Trustees will be matching gifts of any size with $100 — up to a total of $100,000! Check your email for a message from us that should have hit your inbox on June 10. It details how you can earn awesome Kenyon swag and help promote the Trustee challenge for our fiscal year-end push, all at the same time. Please reach out to Annual Giving Operations Coordinator Terry Dunnavant via email with questions or to learn more.

KENYON AT 200: PLACE AND PURPOSE  //
One of the projects under way to commemorate our bicentennial in 2024 is a book about the place itself. We invite alumni to submit stories, photos and even Kenyon artifacts as part of the effort. The editors will choose some submissions to appear, as edited, in the book; others may be chosen for the College website or digital bicentennial publications

KENYON IN SONG
//  Alumni Council has launched an initiative to update the Kenyon Songbook, which was last published in 1957. That sprawling edition, with nearly 60 songs, can be viewed here. We invite your feedback on the songs that should or should not be included in a revised edition. We acknowledge that some of these songs are set to minstrel tunes and may not be appropriate for future editions.

10 Minutes for Kenyon

As we approach the end of the fiscal year on June 30, we could use the assistance of every volunteer in encouraging support for the Kenyon Fund.

Increasing alumni participation leading up the bicentennial in 2024 is a stated priority of the College, and we’re sending out some fun swag for volunteers who complete outreach. A post to your social media accounts is an easy way to encourage others to join in, but we’re happy to provide more targeted outreach lists for your class, region, fraternity, team, etc. Just email annual.giving@kenyon.edu to get a targeted list. (Learn more about how you can help by watching the recording of our recent volunteer lunch chat.)

A frequent response to this kind of outreach that might surprise you: “Thank you for doing this for Kenyon.”
