Fiscal Year Ends June 30
The end of our fiscal year approaches and boy, do we have a treat for you! Keep your eyes on your email for details on our Class Agent year-end challenge with an opportunity to earn a free Kenyon tote. More details coming soon at our next Lunch Chat on June 9 at 12:30 p.m. ET. Register here and we will see you soon!
The Annual Fund is heading into the final stretch of the fiscal year with real momentum: giving to the Kenyon Fund and current use scholarships is up more than 10% over last year, and we're on track to hit an increased goal of $6 million — an ambitious stretch that reflects the strength of the Kenyon Community. The Parents Fund is performing well, Leadership Annual Giving is strong, we're seeing meaningful growth in DAF and QCD gifts, and the Class of 2026 set a remarkable bar, with 69% of seniors making a gift before graduation. In these last few days of the fiscal year, we need to carry that energy across all classes.

How can you help us the most? Participation! We're holding at roughly 22% alumni participation against a goal of 25% — and that gap is where you come in. A personal note from a classmate moves people in ways a mass email simply cannot. Whether it's a quick text, a LinkedIn message or a handwritten note to five people you know haven't given yet, your outreach in these final weeks is what gets us to 25%. Every donor counts.

Volunteer Group Updates from Reunion Weekend
Reunion Planners: Another unforgettable Reunion Weekend has come to a close. Not even the weather could dampen the thrill of classmates reuniting on the Hill! A heartfelt thank you to Reunion Committee members for your vision, dedication and thoughtful planning. You successfully created meaningful moments that led to countless memories made throughout the weekend. Your efforts are deeply appreciated.
Alumni Council: Alumni Council had a tremendously successful Reunion Weekend filled with meaningful engagement, celebration and community building. During the weekend, Council voted to welcome eight new members who will officially join the group this fall, bringing new energy and perspectives to its work on behalf of the alumni community. Council also hosted two signature events over the weekend. The first was the annual All-Alumni and Faculty Reception on Friday evening, which brought together graduates and faculty members from across generations. In addition, Council debuted a new program titled “Kenyon Stories from Storied Kenyon Faculty,” in honor of Tom Stamp ’73 and featuring Defense Reporter at Bloomberg News Jen Judson '04 (moderator), Charles P. McIlvaine Professor of English Adele Davidson '75, Professor Emeritus of Biology Harry Itagaki H'21, Professor Emeritus of English and Editor Emeritus of the Kenyon Review David Lynn '76 P'14 H'23 and Professor Emeritus of Sociology Howard Sacks P'08 H'16. The event was a highlight of the weekend with faculty members sharing memorable stories from their time at Kenyon, prompting audience members to join in with heartfelt reflections and personal stories about the professors and mentors who shaped their Kenyon experience. The enthusiastic response has Council already considering bringing the event back for future Reunion Weekends.
Looking ahead, we are excited for an active fall season beginning with Homecoming Weekend Sept. 25–26, which will include special reunion celebrations for both baseball and men’s lacrosse alumni. We are also thrilled to share that Kenyon will host its inaugural Women’s Conference Oct. 23–25. Registration for the conference opens July 20, and all members of the Kenyon community are welcome to attend.
50th Reunion Committee: The 1976 50th Reunion Committee did an amazing job leading their class to their 50th Reunion celebration! They had more than 90 alumni plus guests in attendance. The committee organized a handful of events throughout the weekend which created wonderful opportunities to connect with each other and Kenyon.
Thanks to the generosity of the class, along with the work of class agents through the years, we announced that lifetime giving for the class was more than $14.5 million!
The 1977 50th Reunion Committee members joined the Class of 1976 during Reunion Weekend as a way to learn from their class and to prepare for their milestone experience.

Spring Board of Trustees Report
Chaired by Aileen Hefferren ’88 H’12, the Kenyon College Board of Trustees convened in Gambier on April 22-24 for its spring 2026 meeting. Time with faculty, students and generous supporters of Kenyon kept spirits as bright as spring in Gambier. This was Hefferen’s last meeting as chair; the Board unanimously elected D. Matthew Voorhees ’95 to succeed Hefferen when her term ends on June 30, 2026. Read more.

Featured Alumni Engagement

Just Ask allows alumni and students to reach out to alumni with career questions as simply as sending an email. We encourage you to respond if a student reaches out to you or use it yourself to connect with fellow alumni for advice. Here's how others have been using the platform lately:

Question: "I am a student interested in pursuing veterinary school after graduation. I was wondering if any alumni here have gone on to vet school and would be willing to share their experience. I'd love to hear how Kenyon prepared you for the application process and vet school itself, as well as any advice you might have, whether that's about coursework, extracurriculars, gaining animal experience, or anything you wish you had done differently. Thank you so much in advance!" (15 Alumni Contacted)

Response: "I decided to go to vet school after I’d been in the workforce for a few years, so my path was a little different. I studied environmental biology, so I had to go back to school to take some pre-reqs I’d missed. If you complete your requirements at Kenyon, you’ll be well prepared academically. Most programs will assess your marks on required classes separately from your overall GPA, so maintaining your grades in your biology, genetics, chemistry is important. Animal handling experience really makes the difference in successful applications. Many candidates have a summer worth of experience, and that is pretty minimal. The more, the better! .... Once in vet school, keep your focus on practical experience. Our practice usually hires internship trained or 5 years out only - we made two exceptions this year for new grads with intensive surgical and dental externships. I wish I’d done an internship! My timing did not align with the match and I went straight into GP - when I grew into that role it made it a lot harder to transition into a surgical residency position, and I pivoted to ownership instead. Hope some of this helps - good luck!" (Among 3 Responses)
