Woman's Named One of World's Best Hospitals... Again!

Woman’s has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals again in 2022, this year for gynecology and maternity care. Woman’s is one of only five hospitals in the world and the only in the United States to be recognized for these specialties.

Woman’s delivers approximately 8,000 babies each year and is the largest delivery hospital in Louisiana, welcoming more than 375,000 babies since opening in 1968. The hospital also performed the most-ever surgeries in 2021 with 8,666 cases, more than 50% of those related to gynecologic health. Woman’s is currently the only freestanding, private, non-profit specialty hospital for women and infants in the United States.

"Yes it is an award for our hospital, but you are the heart of what we do and why we are able to deliver quality care and exceptional experiences to our patients. Congratulations to all of you on this incredible honor, and thank you for all you do for our patients, their families, each other and the community."
-Cheri Johnson, MSN, RNC-OB, Woman’s senior vice president of patient care and chief nursing officer

The World’s Best Hospitals ranking, now in its fourth year, is intended to be a resource to help patients make a more informed and data-driven decision when choosing the right hospital for their medical needs. Learn More.

Employee Blood Drive

The March employee blood drive kicks off this week at the BAT Center on Wednesday, March 9. OLOL Blood Donor Center is asking healthy individuals to consider donating blood. Inventory levels have been low due to COVID-19 cancellations and our patients at Woman’s need your help. Be a hero - it's in your blood! Free gift to all donors.

Do you know someone who needs blood donation credits? Be sure to fill out a blood replacement card to credit that particular patient. They will get credit for that donation and will also be reimbursed $15 per unit.
