Woman's Leadership

Donna Williams, Interim Patient Access Director
Join us in welcoming Donna Williams to Woman's Hospital as our Interim Patient Access Director. She comes to us from Phoenix, Arizona, where she served as the Practice Manager for Oak Street Health. While there, Donna helped build the new clinic from its foundation, hired a patient access team and implemented and trained on all new workflows and computer systems. Prior to that, she worked as Patient Access Director for Prosser Memorial Hospital in Prosser, Washington, where she oversaw all hospital registrations, referrals, orders and call center activities for the health system and outlying clinics.

Period Poverty Donation Drive

Did you know that one in five menstruating teens is affected by period poverty? That is an alarming statistic that we are seeing right here in Baton Rouge.
Woman’s is partnering with Network of Women and the EBR School District to change the cycle of period poverty for girls in Baton Rouge. Today kicks off our first-ever Period Poverty Donation Drive at Woman’s Hospital. Join us in supporting this cause to help young girls in our area feel more confident about themselves and prevent them from having to miss school because they don’t have access to feminine products.
We are now accepting donations of sanitary pads, tampons, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, hand sanitizer and soap. Donation drop boxes are located around campus this week and can also be found at off-site locations. See the list below for the full location listing. Our goal this year is to provide 5,000 period products to students in need. We will let everyone know how we did on Friday, May 19, after we’ve collected and counted all donations.

Emergency Systems Test

Facilities Management will test the Emergency Power Systems on Friday, May 19, from 4:30-6:45 AM. During this time, all emergency power to the hospital will be provided via the emergency generators. Contact the Director of Facilities Management, Martin Albores, with any questions or concerns.
During that time, expect the following:
  • Emergency power sources in your area will switch off and then back on at the beginning and end of the test (red outlets).
  • To prevent any carriers from getting lost, the Pneumatic Tube system will be shut down from 4:15-7:00 AM.
  • Elevators will not be available from 4:30-4:35 AM and again between 5:10-5:25 AM in five-minute intervals. (NOTE: If you are on an elevator when it shuts down, it will let you off on the first floor before shutting down.)
Please report any equipment that fails to operate on critical or emergency power circuits as soon as possible.
