Parking Policy FAQs

Why do we have assigned parking decals?
Assigned parking decals are important for a couple of reasons. First, the decals will help us quickly identify who a vehicle belongs to so we can contact the owner if Security notices something concerning—like a flat tire, a light left on, a window left open during bad weather, or any damage to the vehicle. Second, using decals will help ensure that team members are parking in their designated areas, which supports better organization and availability of spaces for patients and visitors.
What information do I need to supply to get a parking decal?
You must have your license plate number, make, model, year, and vehicle color to receive a parking decal.
What is the price of a parking decal?
There will be no cost for the parking decal.
Where should the decals be installed?
Decals should be placed on the lower right-hand corner of the front windshield, on the passenger side.
What is the deadline for team members to have a parking permit?
All team members must have a parking permit by September 1, 2025.
I drive more than one car; can I get two decals?
Yes, upon request and with the necessary information.
Where is approved parking for people who work on the Woman’s Hospital campus?
Parking for anyone who works on Woman’s main campus is in lots F, G, H, and I.
What are the purple parking spaces for?
The purple parking spaces are for employees who are mobility-impaired. A special tag is required to park in the purple parking spaces. To request this accommodation, you must contact Employee Health to discuss the situation and provide documentation from a physician stating the need and duration for the accommodation. If you already have this tag from employee health, you may start parking in the purple spots immediately.
What do I need to do if I am at the hospital in a personal capacity, such as visiting a patient or as a patient?
If you are at the hospital as a patient or a visitor, you may put a note on your dashboard to let security know you are here in a non-working capacity. If a ticket is received during this time, you may talk to your supervisor to have it removed.
Can I use the designated visitor parking area outside the Support Services building?
Employees are only allowed to use the visitor parking spaces outside of the Support Services building if they are dropping something off or unloading and will be in that parking space for no longer than 15 minutes.
What happens if I get a parking ticket?
If you get a ticket, your leadership will be notified. The first ticket issued within a calendar year will serve as a verbal warning. Further tickets within the same calendar year will be subject to progressive discipline.
What do I need to do if I get a new car?
If you get a new car and you are unable to transfer your decal, you may go to Human Resources for a replacement. You will need to bring your license plate number as well as the make, model, year, and color of your car. If you can transfer your decal, you will need to provide Human Resources with updated vehicle information.
What should I do if I am using a rental vehicle?
Contact Woman’s Security Office at (225) 924-8473 to let them know.
