Happenings November 2022 This year the Madison Hmong New Year focused on the Dane County community. Among the many local organizations and Hmong entrepreneurs was FoodWIse Hmong Educator Phin Ter.
Extension staff worked with Stoughton's Sustainability Committee to create an event to engage the public and create the city’s first sustainability plan. The aim was to share information and receive community input on the goals and actions they want to be part of the plan.

For the past several months, we have highlighted two of the Dane County students participating in local government through the Youth in Governance Program (YGP). Each youth representative is appointed to a Dane County Board committee and is matched with a County Board Supervisor to serve as a mentor. In addition to learning how county government functions, the YGP representatives bring youth voices to local government decisions.
