Arts Management at 20!Spring 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of our first AMGT MA gradates in our program! In October we will be announcing several programming and fundraising initiatives that we will be producing this year to honor this milestone in our history! We will be sending out save-the-date and programming information in the next few weeks via our news and social media channels.
AMGT has so much to celebrate:
- We currently have over 65 students enrolled in our MA, Accelerated MA and minor programs at CVPA.
- We have over 600 alumni working in various areas of art management though out the United States and internationally including Brazil, China, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, among others.
- Over 75 students have taken part in our immersive study abroad programs in Belgium, England, France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Northern Ireland, and Scotland.
- Our students have completed thousands of internship hours in arts and culture organizations around the world.
- Multiple AMGT alumni serve as adjunct professors and guest speakers in our AMGT MA program
- Over 30 AMGT alumni serve in various capacities on the George Mason University campuses.
- Our Working in the Arts Panel Series continues to serve our students, faculty, staff, alumni in our George Mason and local communities by collaborating with experts in the filed on current issues and challenges in arts.
We look forward to sharing more information soon about our 20th Anniversary initiatives and programs as we continue to serve our George Mason students, faculty, staff, alumni, and larger arts community as we plan for our next twenty years!

Entertainment Law w/
Brian Goldstein
Monday, October 28 from 6:30-8pm ET via Zoom
About: We all know that the performing arts is uniquely situated in its power to unite and bind us together in a world that seems to grow further apart the smaller it gets. However, there can be considerable logistical, legal, and financial challenges to international touring, programming, and presenting. Not only is the U.S. infamous in having among the world’s most tortuous systems for obtaining visas and work-permits for non-U.S. artists to perform here, but issues such as Brexit, international tax treaties, politics, and even global warming can frustrate the best artistic plans and intentions. Join us to hear a panel of experienced and engaging experts in arts management from both the U.S. and Europe discuss the challenges of moving and presenting artists across the pond and around the world.
Brian, a George Mason University Theater Program alumnus, will be joined by Glen Kwok, Executive Director of the Indianapolis International Violin Competition, Atholl Swainston-Harrington, Executive Director of the International Artist Managers Association in London, Monica Felkel, President of MF Creative Partners, and Cathy Eilers, Associate Director of Dance Programming at New York City Center.
