As the owner of a luxury travel agency, I know a great pool is very important to my clients on their Hawaiian vacations. Whether you are seeking a kid-friendly pool with zero-depth-entry and waterslide options, or a zen adults-only experience, here are the best pools on the Hawaiian islands.

The Best Pools on Kauai
This resort has a really fun kids pool with a 150-foot-long slide in an s-shape. During the summer season and winter holidays, kids can participate in timed races on the slide, with the fastest contestant winning a treat like shave ice.
But the resort has more than just a waterslide. Its sprawling pool complex is often touted as the best on the island. The heart and soul of the resort is this oceanfront complex featuring two multi-level freshwater pools, which are connected by tranquil rivers that are a dream to float on.
There is also a designated quiet pool—the perfect place for adults to read a book or sip a cocktail in peace.

2. Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu
The less-touristed island of Kauai is not known for a plethora of hotels and resorts. But Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu has several lovely pools with cabana rentals, and the main pool is one of the largest single-level pools on Kauai. This infinity pool contains 350,000 gallons of water and features waterslides, swim-through waterfalls, a grotto, a kids’ splash pad, dancing water fountains, poolside cabanas, and multiple jacuzzis.
There’s also a separate family lagoon pool with an island, meandering lagoon, basketball hoop, tidal pool, and fire pits, as well as an adults-only pool with waterfalls.

The Best Pools on Maui
The Wailea Beach Resort is an under-the-radar gem that's one of my favorite resorts in the Hawaiian islands. A lot of people don't know about it! If you book with me, I can get you extra perks here.
One of the many great things about this resort is that it has both an amazing kids pool and a fabulous adults-only pool. The family pool is 2-acres and has four slides, one of which is 325 feet long. With a five-and-a-half-story drop, it’s the largest water slide on Maui.
The adults-only pool is located in a completely different area of the resort where you can't even hear the kids screaming over at the family pool. It is a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the ocean. That's me enjoying it above—a truly zen experience.
The gorgeous Montage is located in the less touristy area of Maui on Kapalua Bay. The resort has three separate pools and if you reserve with me I can get you extra perks at this lovely resort.
The Sunset pool is the most unique at this property. It features tropical gardens surrounded by multi-tiered, blue pools with waterfalls and a lagoon. It is a brilliantly designed outdoor space and, although other Maui resorts have larger pools, this is one-of-a-kind. It's a cascading pool that was constructed with lots of secluded nooks and private oases of daybeds. You will feel like you have your own part of the pool to yourself.
The Sunset Pool features pool service with tropical drinks and food. It also has an adults-only pool deck with daybeds available to rent. Guests must be over 16 years of age and cellphone use is to be minimized.
The resort also features a pool at the spa (limited to ages 16 and over) and a Beach Club Infinity Pool, so there are lots of choices.
Kids dream of a pool like the one at Maui’s Grand Wailea. Its activity pool is made up of nine pools and six connecting water slides, all of which are linked by a river that carries people lazily through its caves and under waterfalls on inflatable tubes. At sunset, kids line up at the jacuzzi and their parents can be found at the tiny swim-up bar, which is tucked into a cave and hidden by a waterfall.
There is also an adults-only pool where you can order daiquiris and wade in peace.
Reserve your next stay at the Grand Wailea with me and get extra perks.
6. Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
Although the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea does have a great kids pool, their adults-only infinity pool really shines. It's perched on an elevated terrace and all you can see past the pool’s infinite edge are the West Maui Mountains and unobstructed panoramas 10 miles across Maalaea Bay to the Pacific Ocean.  The only thing you can hear is the sound of the bubbling fountains at the pool’s borders. Speakers below the surface of the pool play Hawaiian melodies that you can hear only with your head underwater.
There is also a spa therapist on duty at this pool, should you want a poolside spa treatment. Of course, there is pool service for drinks and snacks, plus a full breakfast and lunch menu-—not to mention a swim-up bar where you can sit on underwater stools and order drinks or food.

7. Four Seasons Resort Hualālai
The Four Reasons Resort Hualālai boasts seven pools, so there is something for everyone. There is an outdoor, Olympic-style lap pool at the spa and a white-sand-bottom kids' pool with child-size chaise loungers and a treasure chest of water toys.
King’s Pond is their famed 1.8-million-gallon saltwater pool carved out of natural lava rock. It is home to more than 1,000 tropical fish.
The hotel’s newest infinity pool, perched above this swimmable aquarium, has a wrap-around deck that offers panoramic views of King’s Pond and the ocean beyond. There’s also an adults-only pool.
8. Hilton Waikolia Village Resort
There are three pools at this resort, and they are a huge draw, especially for my clients with kids. The most popular is the Kona Pool, probably because it features a 175-foot twisting waterslide, swim-through waterfalls, a rope bridge, hot tubs, and a sandy children’s beach. The Kohala Pool features interconnected pools with smaller waterslides and a lazy river.
The Ocean Tower Adult Pool is adults-only and, of course, there’s a bar.
Located on stunning Keauhou Bay, the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa boasts amazing views of the bay. The hotel has a multi-level pool with a 200-foot waterslide, waterfalls, and a sand-bottom kids' pool—all with a sweeping bay view. At night you can even spot manta rays gliding in the bay. Magical!

The Best Pools on Oahu
This resort is on the North Shore of Oahu, removed from the hustle-bustle of Waikiki. It's great to combine this resort with a few nights in Waikiki or to limit your stay to this gorgeous property. It's perfect for a family vacation or romantic getaway. I had honeymoon clients stay recently, and they loved it. I get my clients extra perks at this spectacular resort, which was recently completely remodeled.
Here you can choose from three resort pools. Relax on the terraced pool deck and enjoy daybeds for families or a private cabana for adults. It has a brand-new terraced pool deck with a new adults-only pool, and a redesigned family-friendly pool with front-row views of the crashing ocean waves and surfers just beyond.
11. Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort
Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort has a couple of pools definitely worth traveling for.
The Edge Infinity Pool is not just any infinity poolit’s North America’s longest oceanfront infinity pool. When you enter the pool you will see Diamond Head to your left and the ocean in the front of you as far as your eyes can see. It is an incredible experience.
The family-friendly pool features two freshwater swimming pools and a 15-foot high, 70-foot long waterslide. Your kids won't want to leave.
