Quality of Life Survey continued...

The 2022 Quality of Life survey is the 21st in the series. These surveys are designed to provide an ongoing picture of how voters view local government services and the general quality of life. They highlight the problems that are of greatest concern to the voters, as well as areas of satisfaction in their parish.  The thirty-six-year time series can be used to assess the effects of events, programs, and policies.  The series can also inform the public and officials about specific areas of perceived deterioration or improvement.

The SRC retained 120 students from seven political science courses to participate as telephone interviewers. Since the SRC was started in 1986, thousands of students have participated in our surveys as interviewers. They learn firsthand how data is collected which leads to a more complete understanding of the polling process. The results from the survey also provide them with a greater knowledge of local and state politics. Students not only develop their skills and further their education through their participation in an SRC poll, they also help enhance UNO’s reputation as a valuable resource in the community.

Results were published last week.
