Professor Pickering uses the podcast in all his classes to engage students outside of the classroom, to do so using a multi-media approach (podcast apps and YouTube), to use the news stories to update the case studies in textbooks, and to make sure students are keeping up with world affairs.  By doing this, he takes the often-complex theories of political science and applies them to present-day global events that students see happening around them, at the same time using technology that students already utilize.  

On September 29th) Professor Pickering put on a live podcast show at the Sandbar.  It was a 1-hour show for the UNO community done in conjunction with the Model United Nations to help showcase what Model UN does on UNO’s campus.  This was the second live show he’s done at the Sandbar, with another live show planned for the spring semester.
