Dr. Elliott Beaton continued...
Dr. Beaton’s work aims to understand and mitigate the origins of psychosis in this population of vulnerable children.
At the retreat, children and their families participated in fun activities, information sessions, lectures, networking and support opportunities with other affected families and professionals. Dr. Beaton, along with four undergraduate students, three graduate students and one UNO alumnus (Dr. Ade Marais) from his laboratory group, met with and gave presentations to parents. They also met with more than 30 families who participated in one of Dr. Beaton’s ongoing research studies on how stress and related factors may shape brain development in these children.
