The paper that received the Best Paper Award is titled “An Investigation on the Aerodynamics, Vibrations, and Control of an Electroactive Membrane,” authored by Ms. Oluwatosin Ojo (Current UNO Ph.D. Student), Dr. Mohammed Khairul Habib Pulok (Former UNO Ph.D. Student, Graduated in August 2022, currently a Core Competency Engineer at the Intel Corporation), Dr. Ji Su (Scientist at the NASA Langley Research Center), and Dr. Uttam Chakravarty.

The recipient of the Innovative Paper Award is titled “An Investigation on a Novel Soft Metamaterial for Space Applications,” authored by Dr. Mohammad Khairul Habib Pulok, Dr. Pratik Sarker (Former UNO Ph.D. Student, currently an Assistant Professor at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), and Dr. Uttam Chakravarty.

It was a privilege to be honored at the largest and most prestigious mechanical engineering conference and to have our students excel at such a high level under the mentorship of Dr. Chakravarty.

The research interests of Dr. Chakravarty include vertical lift, advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing, solid mechanics, composite structures, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, design, and small-scale unmanned aerial systems.
