PrivatEEL Camp

PrivatEEL STEM Summer Camp continued...

This camp was sponsored by the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Research and covered various engineering topics such as 3D modeling, 3D printing, hydrodynamics, structural engineering, robot construction and robot programming.  The camp curriculum centers around campers organizing in groups to build and program a robotic eel.  The campers were given tours of various labs in the Engineering Building.  At the conclusion of the camp, campers were able to demonstrate their robots for their families and friends in the UNO Recreation Center swimming pool.  This work is an offshoot of Dr. Taravella’s years of research in studying the hydrodynamics of anguilliform swimmers.
