Savoie College of Engineering

Cook-Nelson and Entergy visit continued...

Students appreciated the opportunity to meet someone who walked the same hallways, learned in the same classrooms and began their career with a similar foundation.

Also in attendance from Entergy was Ron Gaston (vice president, regulatory assurance),  Kyle Sanford (engineering supervisor for systems and components, Waterford 3), Michelle Groome (nuclear tech instructor, Waterford 3) and Billy Steelman (director of engineering, Waterford 3).

In addition, a favorite faculty member from back in the day, Dr. Norm Whitley, dropped by to say hello. Both Kimberly and Michelle were pleased to reconnect with Dr. Whitley, who was an important instructor and mentor to them both.

Prior to Cook-Nelson's visit, a group from UNOJeff Bush and Eric Balukonis from University Advancement and Drs. Lizette Chevalier, Dimitrios Charalampidis and Ting Wanghad the opportunity to tour the Waterford 3 Nuclear Generating Station in Killona, Louisiana. Throughout the tour, numerous UNO alumni greeted us and acknowledged their appreciation for classes taught by Dr. Charalampidis.  He’s our rockstar!
