Denise Banks continued . . .
Denise very much enjoyed her daily interactions with students and was always encouraging them to persist through the trials they faced and continue their studies. She would often share her own story of overcoming learning disabilities and attending college later in life. After years of working at UNO, her colleagues encouraged her to enroll.
Denise completed her bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies in 2015. She was extremely proud of being a UNO graduate and her favorite part of the job was supporting others in their pursuit of education.
A memorial service occurred on Saturday, Jan. 13, at Greenwood Cemetery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Denise's family suggested that donations be made to the Animal Rescue of New Orleans as Denise loved animals. Or make a gift to UNO in Denise's name by clicking here.
