College of Business Administration

Innsbruck continued ...

Dr. Walter “Dub” Lane, chair of the department of economics and finance, accompanied the students on the journey.
More than 250 American students and some Innsbruck students participated in the summer program. They took a variety of business courses as well as others ranging from geography to medieval literature. The students traveled to historical sites including concentration camps, WWII battlefields, glaciers and world-class museums to experience the region's art, archaeology and even a mummy called Ötzi, the Iceman.
Classes were held Monday through Thursday, so students could explore on their own Friday through Sunday. They could truly experience their summer home in Innsbruck and also visit nearby countries via train, traveling from one to another in quickly and easily. Dr. Lane remarked, "The students love to travel on the weekends since most of Europe can be reached by train easily from Innsbruck. The students worked hard to earn six hours of college credit, but they also had the time of their lives.”
Despite being such a large program, UNO and the University of Innsbruck work together each summer to give students an educational and culturally immersive experience.
