A big thank you to our speaker and UNO Civil Engineering alumna, Kiara Horton, for enlightening our students on her current work on The Gentilly Resilience District Dillard Wetland Project in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. Members from the UNO chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers appreciated her expertise and passion for helping to make our community a better place!

Yelitza Cedeño '23

Recently, our freshmen engineering students got the opportunity to learn from our 2023 graduate Yelitza Cedeño about being successful in an engineering career. Her lecture entitled "Beyond the Technical: Essential Soft Skills for Engineering Success" was a huge hit with students and faculty alike. She commented, "It was inspiring to connect with future engineers who are eager to build both their technical and interpersonal strength." We hope to see her again soon!
