Ron Henderson, deputy commissioner for consumer advocacy for the Louisiana Department of Insurance, discussed the insurance crisis and answered questions. Following his segment was a panel discussion on the status of the current housing market, mortgage rates and insurance moderated by Dr. Ali Bustamante. Panel participants were Craig Mirambell, 2024 president of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors, Holly Callia, mortgage market manager and senior vice president at BankPlus and Charlie Fontenelle, area vice president for Gallagher Insurance. The seminar focused on the challenges facing the housing market in the New Orleans Metro area.
