Bo McCalebb played high school basketball at O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans and went on to join the University of New Orleans Privateers. He played at UNO from 2003 - 2008 and played in 128 games, averaged 20.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
McCalebb then started his professional career playing in the Turkish Super League and played professionally for eleven years in Turkey, Serbia, Italy, Germany, France and Spain, winning several championships and MVP awards. With Macedonian heritage, he was asked to join the senior men's Macedonian national team in 2010 and helped the team reach the EuroBasket 2011. Bo was the best scorer of the tournament in total points and earned an All-Tournament Team selection.
After returning to the US, Bo again registered as a student at UNO to finish his undergraduate degree, which he'd started years before. In August 2024, Bo completed his Bachelor of General Studies at UNO and walked in the December 2024 commencement ceremonies. Talk about perseverance!
For his many accomplishments on and off the court and in the classroom, Bo McCalebb makes us #UNOPROUD!
