Boca Raton Regional Hospital Nominates
Toby and Leon Cooperman for Walk of Recognition Award

On Wednesday, November 20th, the Boca Raton community gathered to celebrate the 28th Annual Walk of Recognition at The Addison. This prestigious event, which was initially conceived by philanthropist Marta Batmasian, has become a beloved tradition organized by the Boca Raton Historical Society and The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum. The Walk of Recognition honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to enriching the lives of Boca Raton's residents and supporting the community's growth.
Each inductee is honored with a name inscribed on a black granite plaque, set into a commemorative monument in Royal Palm Place, a lasting tribute to their contributions. This year, Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation proudly nominated Toby and Leon Cooperman for their profound and lasting impact on the community.
Through their philanthropic efforts, Toby and Leon Cooperman have supported numerous vital institutions, including Boca Raton Regional Hospital, helping to enhance healthcare services and ensure that residents have access to state-of-the-art medical care. Their commitment extends beyond healthcare, as they have been instrumental in supporting families with special needs, particularly through their backing of the Therapy and Family Resource Center at Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Services.
The Coopermans’ dedication to education and the arts further highlights their broad community involvement, fostering opportunities for cultural enrichment and learning. Their generosity not only strengthens local initiatives but also inspires others to follow their example, creating a ripple effect of giving within the community.
In addition to the Coopermans, this year’s Walk of Recognition also honored Cynthia Krebsbach for her work with The Junior League of Boca Raton, Lisa Mulhall, co-founder of Impact 100, and Lora “Skeets” Friedkin (posthumously) for founding Stand Among Friends, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
