Driving Change: Delray Dunes’ Inaugural Swing Fore Pink Exceeds Expectations
Golfing for a great cause is something the residents of Delray Dunes take great pride in. Each year, they select a non-profit that would benefit greatly from their community’s fundraising efforts. This year, the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute was honored to be chosen, with proceeds benefitting the Morgan Pressel Center for Cancer Genetics.
The day teed off with more than 60 women golfers hitting the greens after an early morning breakfast. Play wrapped up around 1 p.m. when both golfers – and an additional 20 non-golfing Delray Dunes residents - gathered for a special luncheon featuring a guest speaker, raffles, and tournament prizes.
Ana Galvan, MMS, PA-C, an Advanced Practice Provider and a Certified Genetic Cancer Risk Assessment Specialist who leads the Cancer Genetic Screening Program, delivered an engaging presentation titled, “What’s in Your Genes? Understand Your Risk for Hereditary Cancers.” Ana shared valuable insights on:
  • What is genetic testing
  • Who should consider genetic testing
  • How test results can guide clinical care
  • Common myths and questions about genetic testing
  • An Overview of the Morgan Pressel Center for Cancer Genetics and what patients can expect during a visit
Thanks to the incredible support of the Delray Dunes community, the inaugural Swing Fore Pink raised more than $20,000! The event’s overwhelming success has sparked excitement about making it an annual tradition, and we couldn't be more grateful.
