Jake Griffith-Rosenberger: Just graduated from Pitt with my MLIS, living in Wilkinsburg, PA with my partner Laura.
Katie Kaestner: Very fortunate and grateful to have successfully completed my Master’s degree in physician assistant studies at DeSales University in the midst of a pandemic. Passed my boards and will begin working as a PA in urology medical and surgical services at my local hospital. So thankful for all the support and love I’ve been given on this journey!
Stewart Pollock: I am really enjoying my second year of (remote) law school. I also appreciated working with the U.S. Attorney's Office last summer, even if it was almost entirely through Zoom. Hope everyone is staying safe!
Jordan Rucci: Recently moved back in with Dirk Hamel '17 after a nine month long-distance stint, in Columbus (Italian Village, specifically). We celebrated 5 years together at the end of August. I'm still teaching College Writing at Columbus State and starting to apply to PhD programs in English for next year. Dirk and I recently adopted a black cat and dubbed her Yennefer of Vengerberg. She is helping us through quarantine fatigue.
Noah Williams is living in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn and is in his third year at Group Nine Media as a Video Producer. He recently adopted a cat (Frankie) who has proven to be the ideal WFH friend.
Mary Sturgis: Despite quarantine, I've been loving being in D.C. this past year! In the spring, I supported the U.S. Department of State's Covid-19 response through an internship. This fall, I'm working with the Center for Strategic and International Studies on political analysis in the Western Hemisphere. When the health situation allows, I'll be leaving for Mozambique to study intensive Portuguese and Southern African politics as a Boren Fellow with the U.S. Department of Defense. Most importantly, I've loved catching up with my Kenyon friends in D.C., like Alex Benthem de Grave, Timmy Broderick, and Britny Patterson ‘19. Can't wait to see the D.C. Kenyon crew again soon!
Rachel Dragos: A little more than a year ago I moved to Guangzhou, China where I teach chemistry and physics at an international high school for English language learners. Being in China throughout the pandemic was an experience. But since about April, I've been able to travel within China safely and teach in-person to full classrooms. Trying to learn Mandarin from zero is truly humbling.
Aaron Mcilhenny: I'm still living in Brooklyn for the foreseeable future, and am currently editing for a UK-based research consultancy that studies the energy market. I'm reading a lot more about Big Oil than I had ever expected to be doing, but it's fascinating to have front row seats to the geopolitics of it and to the energy transition as a whole. It's also making me realize more and more the importance of being in nature, using less plastic, and finding ways to be more deeply connected to the wider world.
Elie Steinberg is in her second year of law school in Portland, Oregon. More importantly she cannot wait to be reunited this winter with Serena Glynn, Hannah Zipperman and Kasya O'Connor Grant.
Madi Thompson: I just started my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Missouri St. Louis. I’m still working full time so it’s honestly a blessing to have classes on Zoom. I am living with Ollie the (former) Crozier rabbit, my partner Kendra, and her cat Anna Kat. Last month a bat flew down our chimney, which was reminiscent of my first year at Kenyon when a bat got into my room in Gund – you never know what will make you nostalgic.
Meg Thornbury: I moved from Colorado to Pennsylvania this summer to start my Masters in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh and I'm loving it. My ESA, Lupe Fiasco, is no longer a fiasco and now has a new kitten sibling named Bebop! They're helping me heal: I got COVID-19 from my mom (Amy Thornbury '88) on March 13th, and unfortunately we're both long-haulers and still have symptoms. Stay masked, stay safe, and for the love of God - vote!
