Join us in welcoming Dr. Jamie Patterson, Breast Surgical Oncologist, to Woman's Hospital!
Beginning today, Dr. Patterson joins Dr. Cecilia Cuntz and Dr. Lindsey Fauveau in providing comprehensive cancer care to patients across Louisiana. She has extensive experience in breast conserving surgery, skin and nipple-sparing mastectomies, and pregnancy-associated breast cancer. Dr. Patterson earned her medical degree at the University of Nevada and completed her residency at the University of California Irvine where she received numerous awards for surgical excellence.

Leadership Updates
Join us in congratulating Briasha Jones in her new role as manager in Woman's Research.
Briasha "Bri" joined Woman’s in 2022 and has grown from a research coordinator to supervisor and now manager. In this role, she will lead research operations and Woman's Delivery Donation Program, liaising with hospital departments for study and program integration. Bri also serves as the co-chair for the Woman's Culture Outreach Respect Engagement (CORE) Committee. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University and her MPH in Maternal and Child Health from Tulane University. Congratulations!

Parking Policy: Final Table Sits Scheduled
Everyone is required to have a decal on their registered vehicle by September 1.
Additional table sits are scheduled this week to give team members a chance to pick up parking decals as part of our new parking policy. If you have not done so, please register your vehicle today and visit a table sit this week.

Registered decals will help security identify a vehicle’s owner in the event of a flat tire, a light left on, damage to a vehicle, etc. In addition, decals will help ensure team members are parking in the designated areas, which include lots F, G, H, and I. Three Steps to Get an Employee Parking Decal
- Gather the following information: license plate number, and the make, model, color, and year of your vehicle
- Complete the registration form. Note: All information must be completed to receive a decal. Responses will be reviewed before a decal is issued.
- Once you have registered your vehicle, please attend one of the remaining table sits to pick up your free decal. The registration form should be filled out before visiting the table sits.

Employee HealthFit Test
Beginning this year, all fit tests will be done annually during the month of September. Each person who needs to be fit tested will have an assignment in HealthStream. You are not required to register in HealthStream, but you must attend one of the sessions listed below. You will need to attend a session, even if you have already completed a fit test this year. The fit test will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Complete the forms linked below and bring them with you to your fit test. If you have questions, contact Employee Health at 924-8144 or email EH-STAFF@womans.org.

Woman's Way Café
Limited seating
The Woman's Way Café seating area will be undergoing a refresh, which may temporarily reduce the number of available seats. During this time, we kindly ask that seating be reserved for patients and visitors.
All work will be conducted during evening hours from August 18–21. Please note that the seating area will be closed to the public from 3:00 PM on August 20 through 6:00 AM on August 21. Alternate seating will be available in the conference rooms during this period. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

What makes something appropriate for Woman's Updates?
If you can answer yes to the following questions, we would love to consider placing your information in an upcoming issue:
- Does the information pertain to at least half of our team?
- Does it reflect our values of respect, innovation, compassion, or excellence?
- Does it advance our mission of improving the health of women and infants?
- Does it promote an internal event, employee shout-outs and recognitions, important organization announcements or employee reminders?
Please note the following:
- All information must be finalized and approved by either your director or manager prior to submission.
- The deadline is Thursday at 5 p.m. for inclusion in the following week’s newsletters.
- All submissions will be reviewed and edited as necessary by the communications/marketing team to ensure they reflect Woman’s branding and voice.
- Requests for specific run dates and placement will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

Safety First: Hurricane Season Preparedness
Stay Weather Aware
We are now in the peak time of hurricane season (August, September, and October). Your safety and that of our patients depends on proactive planning and clear communication. Our emergency management team and administration monitor weather events closely, and you will be notified if necessary. Here are some important things you need to know this hurricane season.
Preparedness at Work:
- Update your contact information in ESS to receive real-time notices from Woman’s First Alert
- Woman’s Hospital will provide updates via First Alert, email, and overhead announcement
- Review the emergency staffing policy. Know your role and responsibilities
Preparedness at Home:
- Create an emergency supply kit with food, water, medications, batteries, chargers for mobile devices, and other essentials for at least 3 days
- Make a family evacuation plan for your children, pets, and loved ones
- Secure important documents and back up digital files
