A legacy gift is one of the most meaningful ways to support Cedar Crest College—ensuring that future generations of students benefit from the same transformative education and opportunities that shaped your life.
The late Patricia R. Hunsicker ’58 offers a powerful example. Her respect for the life sciences and her gratitude for her Cedar Crest education remained central to her life.
In recognition of the experiences and foundation she gained at the College, Pat thoughtfully included Cedar Crest in her estate plans. Through her generosity, the College is thrilled to announce the establishment of The Patricia R. Hunsicker ’58 Endowed Fund for Summer Research Scholars Program in Life and Other Natural Sciences.
This endowed fund will support a new, immersive summer research initiative launching in 2027. The program will provide highly motivated undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in authentic, faculty-mentored scientific research during the summer prior to their first year at Cedar Crest. Through hands-on laboratory work and close mentorship, students will begin developing the skills, confidence, and intellectual curiosity essential for success in scientific study and discovery.
By offering a pre-college research opportunity, Cedar Crest will:
